Oplettende scholier voorkomt veel erger in Gieten.
Herman © Van Oost Media Rond half vijf donderdagmiddag fietste een scholier uit Eext door de Beukers in Gieten.
Hier zag hij wel heel veel rook een schoorsteen komen.
Hij vond dit volgens eigen zeggen een verdachte situatie en belde bij de woning aan.
Hier werd niet open gedaan door de bewoners, omdat de rook ontwikkeling heftiger werd heeft hij 112 gebeld.
En dat was een zeer goede actie volgens de brandweer.
Brandweer Gieten verschafte zich toegang tot de woning en heeft de kachel/haard leeggehaald.
Voor alle zekerheid kwam de hoogwerker van Brandweer Veendam om de schoorsteen met een ramoneur te vegen.
Hoe groot de schade aan de woning is door roet en rook is niet bekend.
