Herman © Van Oost Media Op de bovenverdieping van een woning aan de Weerdingerweg in Valthe is maandagmiddag rond 13.00 uur brand uitgebroken. Een buurvrouw zag rook uit het dak komen en belde 112.
De bewoners waren niet thuis.
Brandweer Emmen kwam de hoogwerker en twee blusvoertuigen en 2e Exloërmond met twee voertuigen en Borger met de tankwagen.
De Weerdingerweg was tijdens de bluswerkzaamheden afgesloten voor het verkeer.
De oorzaak van de brand is niet bekend.
Wel wist de buurvrouw nog een poes uit de woning te halen.
De woning liep veel schade op met name de bovenverdieping en op de begane grond veel waterschade.
