Herman © Van Oost Media Rond tien over negen woensdagavond werden de hulpdiensten opgeroepen voor een voertuig te water op de Buinerstraat.
De locatie melding bleek niet juist, het was de Bronnegerstraat tussen Bronneger en Buinen.
Hier had zich een eenzijdig ongeval voorgedaan. Een Landrover met een mannelijke bestuurder verloor komende vanaf Buinen na een flauwe bocht de macht over het stuur en belandde in het Kanaal Buinen-Schoonoord.
De bestuurder had zelf de hulpdiensten gebeld en kon door behulp van de politie en ambulance personeel uit de auto worden gehaald.
De man is na een eerste onderzoek in de ambulance overgebracht naar het ziekenhuis.
Berger Willem Keizer uit Stadskanaal heeft de auto geborgen
Brandweer Borger kwam ter plaatse om de auto veilig te stellen.
Het verkeer ondervond na genoeg geen hinder van het gebeuren
